Jazz day 4th May 2008
from 12 noon till 5pm
raising funds for meg's children
The orphange that we're supporting on our Jazz day is Meg's Children,
in Nepal. Come along on the 4th May 2008 from 12 noon till 5pm, and help support this wonderful charity.
Trish Ryan from Albury lost her daughter a couple of years
ago and after she died she went to Nepal to work in an orphange
and found it badly run and decided to take over the running of this
orphange herself.
Julie Yates had the pleasure of visiting this orphange and was very
impressed with the running of it and the gorgeous children there.
They already have three houses and have just moved into a new one.
It is amazing have much improvement has been made in their health
and running of the orphanage, since Thrish Ryan took over.
There are 19 children living there. A young man named Bikash runs
the orphange for no wages - just a roof over his head. He has a
couple of helpers who make clothes for the children. The children
go to a public school and learn English.
